Centerless grinder

A centerless grinder (also spelled centreless grinder) grinds cylindrical parts without holding them between centers. The workpiece rests on a work rest blade between a grinding wheel and a regulating wheel, which makes it fast, accurate and ideal for high-volume production. It works in two ways: through-feed grinding for long, straight parts, and in-feed (plunge) grinding for parts with shoulders or special shapes. Centerless grinders give consistent size, a fine surface finish and tight tolerances on shafts, pins, rods, bushes, bearing parts and bright bars.
