Specifications
Applications:
- Auto Feed Mechanism in Vertical Milling Machines
- Used inside the feed gearbox to engage and reverse the longitudinal or cross feed direction.
- Reverse Clutch Assembly
- Works as a key component of the reverse-clutch system that switches feed from forward to reverse.
- Power Transmission at 90°
- Transfers rotational motion between perpendicular shafts in compact milling machine gearboxes.
- Feed Control Systems
- Ensures smooth, controlled movement of the table or saddle during milling operations.
- Bridgeport-Type Milling Machines
- Suitable for standard turret milling machines, especially for auto-feed units where feed reversal is required.
- Replacement / Maintenance Part
- Used as a spare part during routine service or overhaul of the machine’s feed gearbox.
- Machine Rebuilding / Retrofitting
- Fits into retrofit projects where old or worn gears need to be replaced to restore feed accuracy and performance.
Features:
Precision-Bevel Gear Design — The bevel gear is machined with high accuracy so that the teeth mesh perfectly for smooth, efficient torque transfer and minimal backlash.
High-Strength Alloy Steel Body — The main gear body is made from hardened alloy-steel, ensuring high durability and resistance to wear even under heavy loads.
Bronze / Brass Bushing Insert — A bronze or brass bushing (bush) is used at the gear’s bore for smooth rotation, reduced friction, and improved longevity of the gear and shaft.
Reverse-Feed / Clutch-Compatible Functionality — Specifically designed to work with auto-feed clutch mechanisms, enabling reliable reversal of feed direction (forward ↔ reverse) in milling machines.
Hardened Gear Teeth — Teeth are hardened for enhanced wear resistance, better torque handling, and long service life — even under continuous use.
Smooth, Quiet Operation — Proper gear geometry and good materials combine to reduce noise, vibration, and shock under load, giving smoother feed transitions.
Corrosion-Resistant Finish — Blackening / phosphate or protective coating (depending on manufacturing) helps resist rust, extending operational lifespan in workshop environments.
Compatibility:
- Suitable for Vertical Turret Milling Machines with Auto Feed Mechanism
- Compatible with most Bridgeport-type vertical milling machines
- Fits milling machine models using B-0049 reverse clutch gear assembly
- Works with standard Auto Feed Gearbox / Power Feed Reversal System
- Compatible replacement for machines using metric auto-feed gear train design
- Fits common Taiwan, India, and China-made Bridgeport-type clones
- (HMT-type, Batliboi-type, M1TR-type, and similar turret mill models)
Description
The Reverse Clutch Bevel Gear (Model B-0049) is an essential transmission component used in the auto-feed mechanism of vertical milling machines.
It transfers rotational motion at a 90-degree angle and enables the clutch to switch between forward and reverse feed directions.
Manufactured using high-grade alloy steel with hardened teeth, the gear offers excellent wear resistance, high torque capacity, and extended service life.
The central brass/bronze bush provides smooth rotation and reduces friction during high-speed operations.
This gear is engineered for precise compatibility with standard Bridgeport-type and turret milling machine automatic feed assemblies.
