Description
A “pillar drill machine” (often also called a “bench drill” or “drill press”) is a vertical drilling machine where the drill head (motor + spindle) is mounted on a rigid vertical column (pillar). The workpiece sits on a table or base below the spindle, and drilling is done by lowering the spindle into the workpiece. The “13 mm” in the name refers to the maximum drilling capacity — i.e. the largest drill-bit diameter the machine is designed to handle effectively in materials like mild steel.
A 13 mm pillar drill is typically used in small to medium workshops, metal-fabrication shops, light-engineering units, or places where moderate-size holes (up to 13 mm) are needed in metal, wood, plastic or sheet materials.
Applications
1.Metal Working Machines: Air Compressors, Band Saw Machines, Bench Grinders, Buffing/Polishing machines, CNC Lathes, Drilling Machines, Hacksaw Machines, Horizontal Boring Machines, Lathe 2.Machines, Milling Machines, Power Press Machines, Plano Milling Machines, Slotting Machines, Surface Grinders, Cutting / Shearing Machines, Tapping Machines, Welding Machines, Wire
3.Wood Working Machines: Circular Saws, Jig Saws, Surface Planner, Thickness Planners, Vertical Bandsaw, Wood Turning Lathes, etc...
4.Machine Tool Accessories: Chuck Back Plates, Electric motors, V-belts, V-pulleys, Starters, Torque Wrenches, etc...
5.Work Holding Equipment: Collet Fixtures, C-clamps, Bearing Pullers, Dead Centers, Lathe Chucks, Pipe Centers, Revolving Centers, Vices, etc...
6.Tool Holding Equipment's: Drill Sleeves, Milling Adaptors, Tapping Attachments, etc...
7.Measuring Instruments: Bore Gauges, Depth Gauges, DFT Meters, Levels Dials, DRO (Digital Read Outs), Gauges, Hardness Tester, Height Gauges, Microscopes, Micrometers, Protractors, 8.Profile Projectors, Roughness Testers, Thickness Gauges, Vernier Callipers, V-blocks, etc...
9.Material Handling Equipment: Chain Pulley Blocks, Lifting Belts, Magnetic Lifters, Pallet Trucks, Stackers, Wire Rope Hoist, Etc...
10.Industrial Coolers: Duct able Coolers, Standalone Industrial Coolers, Etc.
Benefits
1.The fixed vertical column and stable table allow for exact hole placement.
2.Ideal for repeated drilling with consistent depth and alignment.
3.Drills through metal, wood, plastic, and composites with the right bit.
4.Adjustable speed settings accommodate different materials.
5.Mounted on a base or bench for solid support, reducing movement during drilling.
6.Safer than handheld drills for larger or more critical jobs.
7.Enables accurate depth control for blind or repetitive holes.
8.Can be fitted with vices, clamps, and other accessories for more controlled work.
9.Typically ranges from 350W to 750W, offering strong torque for tough jobs.
10.Better suited than handheld drills for thicker or harder materials.
Features
1.Supports bits up to 13 mm in diameter.
2.Often uses a keyless or keyed chuck for easy bit changes.
3.Usually ranges from 500W to 850W (corded) or 12V to 20V
4.Higher wattage = better performance on hard materials.
5.Variable speed trigger for precision.
6.Multiple speed settings or gear selector
7.Useful for screwdriving or removing stuck drill bits.
8.Allows drilling into concrete, brick, and masonry.
9.Rubber grip handles for comfort.
10.Corded: Continuous power for heavy-duty tasks.
